MEET DR. PAYTON

Dr. Christopher Payton has 15+ years experience as a veterinarian and is blessed to be able to use his knowledge and skills to take care of many of God’s creatures and improve their quality of life. Dr. Payton is the founder and owner of Michiana Veterinary Hospital, a full service veterinary hospital located in Edwardsburg, MI for small companion animals, birds, and horses. His experience, care, and compassion for animals enables him to offer excellent care.

Dr. Christopher Payton, DVM, CAC, CVA, CCRP, was employed with Western Veterinary Clinic for the past 15 years, and served as Chief of Staff for the past 3 years.  As a Native of Kansas, he attended Kansas State University and graduated in 2000 with a B.S. in Animal Science.  He spent the next two years working at Western Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Assistant, before returning to Kansas State University and graduating with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2007.  His intrigue for understanding lameness and compassion to help injured and maturing animals led him to pursue animal chiropractic school. He graduated from Options for Animals Chiropractic School in Wellsville, KS in 2009 with a National and International Certification in Animal Chiropractic work for small and large animals.  He continued his pursuit of helping animals in non-traditional therapies at The Chi Institute in Reddick, FL. He graduated as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist for small and large animals in 2011.  He then decided to pursue how he could rehabilitate animals after trauma or surgery, by attending the University of Tennessee Canine Rehabilitation School and graduated as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner in 2016.  Dr Payton also has a passion for Canine Reproduction as well as Equine Power Dentistry.  

Dr. Payton is blessed to be able to use this knowledge and skills to take care of many of God’s creatures and help to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Payton enjoys spending time with his family and is very active in his local church.
